Twelve Peru Wrestlers fight through the brackets to earn All-American at NUWAY Nationals!
The Peru Wrestling Team had 21 wrestlers compete at NUWAY Nationals at Battle Creek, Michigan at Kellogg Arena for a two day National Tournament featuring 1200 wrestlers which traveled from 29 states ranging from California to Maryland. Top 8 finishers earn ALL-AMERICAN.
Peru Blair Pointe 6th grade wrestler Trey Sturgill placed 4th.
Peru Junior High Wrestler Ethan Robinette stepped on the podium with an 8th place finish. Jordan Rader had another exceptional weekend in a large weight class going 5-1 to become All-American in 3rd place.
On the High School side Peru had 9 wrestler make the podium as All-American: Peru twins Devin Mitchell and Dakota Mitchell both earned 4th place. Peru Sophomore Peyton Sturgill negotiated the largest weight class in the event to battle to a 5th place finish, while Peru Sophomore Erik Hobbs bruised his way to a 3rd place step on the stand. Peru Freshman Jason Kepner wrestled for an 8th place finish in the heavyweight division. Peru Juniors Jason McBride was 5th place, Noah Greer was 4th, Peru State Finalist and Senior Nick Cress strapped it up one more time to earn 5th place while Peru Junior Tristan Bragg bullied and battered his way to All-American in 3rd Place.
