Peru Wrestling Wins the Corporal Greg Stultz Memorial Wrestling Invitational at Northview High School at Brazil, IN.

The Peru Tigers Varsity Wrestling team won the Corporal Greg Stultz Memorial Wrestling Invitational. The Tigers would bring home three individual champions in Kegan Kern at 132lbs, Evan Loe at 145lbs, and Nick Cress at 195lbs, as well as second place finishes by Shane Garretson at 106, Peyton Sturgill at 138, Erik Hobbs at 220, and Tristan Bragg at heavyweight. This coupled with third place finishes by Carter Kintner at 113, Conner Quin at 120, Garrett Sparks at 160, fourth place finishes by Cameron Kintner at 126, Noah Greer at 152,  Danny Fisher at 170, and a fifth place finish by Wyatt Gray at 182 would be just what the Tigers would need to pin the competition on their way to a first place team finish over Terre Haute South Peru 199 to South’s 194.5. Other teams in the competition were third place Terre Haute North with 159.5, Martinsville with 159, Plainfield with 154, Northview with 129, North Knox with 122, and Greencastle with 64 team points.

The Tigers will be wrestling at home  Tuesday vs. Northwestern and then on January 11th as they host the Peru Super 8 at Peru High School on route to win their third team tournament after placing 8th recently at the Al Smith Invitational at Mishawaka High School. The Junior Varsity Tigers will head to Northfield High School on January 11 for their second to last tournament of the season.
